a lesson about love

a lesson about love (an ode to La La Land)

mmm…

it’s a simple word… so simple, so cute – love!

but, yet it’s so complicated… actually people are the ones who make it sound complicated, make it feel like a complicated emotion…

there goes a saying, it’s like – don’t fall for anybody that makes you feel like loving them is hard… with time passing, I got to think that the dude was right… love is supposed to be simple, pure, easy… it’s supposed to be just love…

but, people are afraid of their heart getting broken, and they wait, and wait, and wait for someone who will take care of their heart… but, if the heart doesn’t get broken, it won’t feel love more deeply…

anyway, if people don’t feel love, why do they live? what for?

artists, indeed are the poor ones materially, but they do love, and they do what they do with art… you can get an MBA, but you can’t become a painter, a writer, or a musician if you don’t have the talent, or even better – the love for that profession…

a friend of mine once told me, to whom I confess everything, and she does too (yes, a man and a woman can be friends, can be best-friends actually), that I don’t know how to love people… I love more like an artist (wasn’t a compliment), and that’s bad… it’s bad in this world, among these people…

but, I still do love people… everyone in their special way, and by everyone I don’t mean all the people of the Earth, like the hippies say… I mean, I can love somebody, or I can love their work… just like there’s a thin line between love and hate, there’s bolder line between the author and their work…

while I’m not afraid to love people, I prefer to love works more… by that I mean an episode, an acting scene, a movie, a song, a chorus, a game… I do love the people who do these things, but not as much as I do love their work… because the humans can’t perform their best always, and every piece of their work cant’ be perfect for a single human being…

so, I choose to love a moment, a view of the nature, the sky on one summer cloudless night, a quote from a book, a monologue, a couple of words, a shot, a save… so, I love the moments… because you can capture and save them forever… not in your external disc, on DVD-s, or Dropbox, but in your mind, in your heart… there is the safest place for as long as you breath…

and yes, I am in love with La La Land movie among many other things…

and no, don’t be afraid to love… it might be the only thing that will make you feel like you lived a life to the fullest when you’re on your deathbed… not the drinks you had, the clothes you were, or the cars you drove…

don’t be a coward, love…
